Nathan Binding – Multi-Disciplinary Product & Design Consultant
Product Management & Strategy | Brand Consultancy | UX/UI & Visual Design

A British Product manager by day, curious about everything else by night. My interests span AI, technology, design, history, films, gaming, and anything creative or innovative. My career and personal projects often explore how tech and design intersect.

Professionally, I straddle a few disciplines. I work in product management, mainly in Agile teams, helping shape strategy, work with devs and designers, and make sure the stuff we’re building actually works for the people using it. Alongside that, I’ve built up years of experience in visual design—logos, brand systems, UI work—and helping early-stage ideas turn into something solid and sharable.

What I do (when I’m not writing blog posts):

Product Management & Strategy

I lead and support teams to ship products that are usable, useful, and aligned with what the business actually needs. I work best in environments where product, tech, and design all have a seat at the table.

Design Consultancy & Branding

I’ve been designing logos and building brand systems for over 20 years. Whether it’s a small one-person business or a new product line that needs a visual identity, I enjoy helping ideas find a clear voice and visual shape.

UX/UI & Product Design

I'm hands-on when needed—sketching flows, wireframing, testing ideas, and building out UIs. My design thinking always links back to the user’s experience, how something feels in use, and how the interface communicates.

Some labels, if that helps:

  • Nathan Binding – for the product and strategy side of my work.
  • nbdesign / nbde.xyz – my design and branding studio for identity work and visual storytelling.
  • CIE Hub – a practical, straight-talking consultancy focused on small business and process improvement.

That said, this blog isn’t about pushing any of that. It’s a place for me to think out loud. Expect posts on tech, science, design, productivity, biology, history—whatever I’m currently curious about. If you like a mix of logic and wonder, you're probably in the right place.

I do have a Buy Me a Coffee link if anything here strikes a chord and you fancy supporting what I do.

FAQs

What topics do you cover on your site?

A bit of everything, really. Mostly thoughts on tech, design, productivity, biology, scientific discoveries, and the occasional dive into history or the weird corners of the internet. If it sparks my interest or feels like something worth unpacking, it’ll probably end up in a post.

What inspired you to start this site?

Honestly, it’s just a place to collect my thoughts. I’ve always got a few too many ideas rattling around, and writing them down helps me make sense of things. If someone else finds them useful or interesting, that’s a bonus.

How do you approach the topics you write about?

There’s no big system. I follow my curiosity—sometimes it’s a new bit of tech, other times it’s something I’ve been mulling over for weeks. I try to keep things practical, a little reflective, and grounded in how stuff actually works in real life.

What’s your background?

I’ve spent nearly two decades working across product, design, and branding. So while this site isn’t about selling anything, that experience tends to seep into how I think about things—how systems work, how people use things, and how ideas catch on.

How can I stay updated with your latest posts?

You can just check back here on the blog, or if you prefer, follow me on social or subscribe when that’s set up. I post when there’s something worth sharing—not on a schedule, just when it feels right.
